Our Story and Values
Creating a home where dignity, comfort, and community come together in the peaceful coastal setting of Hua Hin.
Return HomeAbout quiieetferny
quiieetferny began in 2019 when Sarah Bennett, a healthcare professional from Australia, recognized a need for gentle, non-medical residential care in Hua Hin. Having cared for her own mother through the later stages of life, Sarah understood the importance of maintaining dignity, independence, and connection even as daily routines become more challenging.
She envisioned a place that felt like a home rather than an institution—where ocean breezes and natural light fill the rooms, where meals are prepared with care and shared around a communal table, and where each person's rhythm and preferences are honored. A place where assistance with bathing or dressing is offered with respect, where conversation flows naturally on the terrace, and where residents have the freedom to choose how they spend their days.
Today, quiieetferny serves as that home. Our residence sits in the quiet Nong Kae area of Hua Hin, close enough to the sea to hear the waves on calm evenings, yet tucked away from the busier tourist areas. The building itself was designed with wide hallways, accessible bathrooms, covered outdoor spaces, and windows that open to gardens and sky. Staff are trained not just in practical assistance but in listening, patience, and maintaining the personal dignity that makes life meaningful at any age.
We believe that growing older does not mean losing autonomy or connection. It means adapting routines while preserving the things that matter most—familiar comforts, kind companionship, the pleasure of a good meal, the warmth of sunlight, and the freedom to choose how one spends the day. This philosophy guides everything we do, from the way we prepare meals to the activities we offer, to the tone of voice we use when offering help.

Experience and Approach
quiieetferny operates within the framework of residential elder care in Thailand, adhering to local regulations while maintaining international standards of respect and person-centered support. Our staff members receive ongoing training in mobility assistance, communication with older adults, dementia awareness, and maintaining dignity in care. We understand that each resident arrives with their own history, preferences, and routines, and our approach centers on adapting our support to fit their needs rather than requiring them to conform to rigid institutional schedules.
The coastal environment of Hua Hin provides therapeutic benefits—calmer temperatures than Bangkok, fresh sea air, natural light, and a slower pace of life that reduces stress. Our gardens feature paths suitable for walking aids, shaded seating areas, and sensory plants like jasmine and lemongrass. Indoor spaces balance communal areas for socializing with quiet corners for reading or reflection. We recognize that home means different things to different people, so we encourage residents to bring personal items, photographs, and small furnishings that carry meaning.
Beyond daily care, we view our role as creating conditions for continued engagement with life. This might mean arranging transportation to a temple for someone who finds spiritual practice important, setting up a corner for watercolor painting, ensuring a favorite type of tea is always available, or simply sitting with someone who wants to talk about their grandchildren. These small acts of attention, repeated daily, create an environment where people feel known and valued as individuals.
Our relationship with families is collaborative. We welcome input about preferences, routines, and history that help us provide more personalized care. Monthly written updates supplement regular phone conversations, and families are encouraged to visit, join meals, or participate in activities. When difficult conversations arise about changing needs or transitions, we approach them with honesty, compassion, and a commitment to finding solutions that honor the resident's wellbeing and the family's concerns.
